| All
of the hard-edged oil paintings represented here were done in a period
of compulsive "realism". I grew very tired of these, disliked the end
result of the highly saturated colors my nature seemed to be unable to
dilute, and stopped using oils altogether many years ago in favor of
water colors and acrylics. The improved drying time also makes
them more fun to work with for me, and watercolors, especially, allow a
fresher look and softer overall tone. |
